A group of 33 school children and two teachers from militancy affected downtown area of Srinagar (J&K) met President of India, Mrs Pratibha Devi Singh Patil on 22 February 2011 and presented her a memento. Sponsored by the Indian Army, under the civic assistance project Sadhbhavna, the group led by Lt Col HP Singh and Maj BK Randhawa of Chinar Corps, visited Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Ajmer, from 17 Feb 11 to 02 Mar 11. Apart from sightseeing, the school children got an opportunity to interact with many other school children and get an idea about spheres of life outside Kashmir Valley. No matter how tense the situation in Kashmir Valley may have been from time to time, these excursions have always evoked much enthusiastic response and have never failed to fascinate the youngsters.
