The Indian Army Team (Red) emerged as the champions of 44th Inter Service Cross Country Championship 2013-2014 held at Mount Abu (Rajasthan) . Individual first position was bagged by Naib Subedar Elam Singh of Garhwal Rifle Regiment Centre (Army Red), second by Sepoy Manohar Singh of Kumaon Regiment Centre (Army Red) and Rifleman Anish Thapa Magar (Army Green) of 58 Gorkha Training Centre bagged the third position. Organized by Air Force Station Mount Abu, The 44th Inter Service Cross Country had four teams participating- viz Indian Army (Red), Indian Army (Green), Indian Air Force and Indian Navy.
The purpose of the championship was to select the athletes for the services cross country team to participate in senior national championship 2013- 14. 24 participants covered a distance of 12 km and Naib Subedar Elam Singh of Army Red covered the distance in 36 minutes 30 seconds. Air Commodore M Mohanta of South Western Air Command presented the medals and certificates to the successful participants and the coveted trophy to the winning team. Last year also Indian Army (Red) won the Inter Service Cross Country Championship.
