Government of India will be investing around $1billion on the internal security modernising programmes, S Suresh Kumar, joint secretary, police modernisation, MEA, said this while delivering a special address during the inaugural session of 5th International Conference and Exhibition on Internal Security. Keeping in mind the challenges of geographical diversity and multiplicity of threats the statement was made.
India is uniquely placed as far as its internal security requirements are concerned. Therefore, there is need for customised security solutions as per the expectations and requirements of the Indian Security Forces. Also present at the occasion was Rothin Bhattacharyya, Chairman CII Internal Security Committee, Gurpal Singh, deputy director general and head defence, aerospace and security.
