Afive-member delegation of Sri Lankan Army led by its military secretary, Major General HCP Goonetilleke, had three days of discussions with the Indian Army group headed by additional director general, international cooperation, Major General IP Singh. India is reported to have agreed to provide more seats to Sri Lankan army and men in its training institutions. Experiences in battle concepts and doctrines related to counter-insurgency operations will also be shared. The two sides will send their military instructors to each other’s military academies. Sri Lanka, in particular, needed instructors in adventure sports and English language, which India agreed to provide. The delegation also met Indian Army chief General V.K. Singh during the visit.
