To expand bilateral defence cooperation Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne visited Bangladesh in March 2012. Over four days of this visit, he met President M Zillur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed, Bangladesh Air Chief Air Marshal SM Zia-ur Rahman and other senior officials. At Bangabhaban, discussions were held on various issues, including training of Bangladeshi Air Force officers with IAF in India. The President’s spokesman said that President Zillur Rahman laid emphasis on exchange of training facilities for the officers of Bangladesh and Indian Air Forces.
PM Wajed said her government always values friendship and cooperation with neighbouring countries and is against terrorism.
