The Cavalry Officers Association (COA) organised a unique re-union of Platinum veterans over the age of 75 years at the Sabre Officers’ Mess, Delhi Cantt, recently. The aim was to create an opportunity for meeting this generation of elders, providing them an occasion to meet each other and to reassure them of the high regard they are all held in by the younger generations of serving and retired officers.
Forty of these doughty elders, many with their better halves, came bearing their aches and pains cheerfully. Receiving the elders were Lt Gen Aditya Singh, President, COA, Brig Ravi Malhotra, Secretary, COA, Lt Gen JP Singh, Deputy Chief, Lt Gen DS Sidhu, DG, Mechanised Forces and serving and retired officers. The nostalgia and camaraderie experienced fosters esprit de corps, which is a tremendous strength for the Services, because it generates motivation and morale- both invaluable in war.
