Following the floods caused by protracted heavy rainfall, unprecedented in Rajasthan, the troops under Army’s South Western Command moved for flood relief duties. They were requistioned by the civil administration. To provide immediate relief, South Western Command rushed rescue and relief stores with sand bags and water pumps to the affected areas. In addition, army also prepared itself to move to any other affected areas at the earliest, as and when requisitioned.
