India and Mozambique to cooperate on Maritime Security

During the delegation level talks between the visiting Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Mozambique Filipe Jacinto Nyussi and Defence Minister AK Antony, India and Mozambique agreed to work together on maritime security of the Indian Ocean region. Nyussi was grateful to India for the help rendered by Indian Navy in rescuing a Mozambican shipping vessel. The vessel fell prey to the attack from pirates off the Mozambican coast last year. The issue of piracy off the East Coast of Africa prominently figured during talks between the two leaders.
