Grievances Redressal Mechanism (DESW)
Pension Grievances Cell in the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, is functioning exclusively to process grievances of ex- ervicemen and their family members relating to various kinds of pensions/family pensions, facilities under ECHS, disputes elating to land and family etc. The grievances are received through the office of Raksha Mantri/Raksha Rajya Mantri, Members of Parliament, Prime Minister’s Office, Cabinet Secretariat, President Secretariat, Department of Pension and Pensioner’s elfare, National Human Rights Commission, Dapartment of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Secretary (ESW) and directly from individuals. These petitions/grievances/representations are examined and/or forwarded to concerned Service HQs/Record Offices/Banks/ECHS/local authorities with directions to take suitable action for redressal of grievances and inform the individual. For more details log on website: http://desw.gov.in/grm-desw With a view to strengthen the Grievances Redressal Mechanism, a project for computerization of grievances has been taken up which will facilitate efficient disposal and proper record management of all grievances of ex-servicemen and their widows/dependents. This website will provide direct public inter-face with pensioners/ senior citizens who have served the nation in the defence of the country. It is also proposed to provide online registration of grievances by the ex-servicemen and their widows/ dependents.
Use of word Retd. The ranks of service officers are granted by the President and valid not only during their life time but also after their passing away . This privilege is only given to service officers and correct form of mentioning the word retd is Brig ABC, VSM** (Retd). DG/SD, General Staff Branch, IHQ of MoD (Army), New Delhi letter No. 05374/SW/SD-1A dated 21 Jul 2014 addressed to all HQ Comds refers.
Direct Entry JCO. “A direct entry JCO will be entitled to first financial upgradation of Rs 4600/- to the rank of Subedar on completion of 8 years of service, second financial up-gradation of Rs 4800/- to the rank of Subedar Major on completion of 16 years of service and third financial up-gradation to the Grade Pay of Rs 5400/- in PB-2 on completion of 24 years service. This is

Purchase of Car Presently there is no waiting period for special sanction required for the purchase of a car. To enhance satisfaction levels, the list of serving and ex-servicemen personnel who have been given special sanction for purchase of cars are being uploaded to the CS Dte web page on www. indianarmy.nic.in on a weekly basis. All CSD/URC related information is being uploaded periodically including special sanction for cars for the veterans of three services.
Introduction of New Items Procedure for introduction of new items in the CSD has been further refined to ensure transparency and quality control. The policy is available on official website at www.csdindia.org.in for perusal by all.
Replacement of Old Cards The Canteen Inventory Management System and smart cards were introduced in 2004. The smart cards were revised with additional security features in Oct 2010. All Canteen Smart Cards issued prior to Oct 2010 will be replaced in a phased manner.
