General Bipin Rawat has assumed the appointment of the first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) with his office in South Block. The details of the Uniform that he will wear has been tweeted by the Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI). While the CDS will have parent Service uniform, the rank badges and accoutrements of the CDS will reflect Jointness,
Integration and Synergy. Elements from all the three defence forces have been included in the insignia of the Chief of Defence Staff. It has an eagle (signifying the Air Force), two swords (Army), an anchor (Navy) and the state emblem encompassed by a laurel wreath. Apart from the belt buckle, the insignia will also feature on the buttons and the cap worn by the CDS.
