The RM on his two day maiden visit to the valley in the J&K from 14 to 15 Jun 14, visited a forward post on the LoC in Uri sector of North Kashmir. He was accompanied by Gen Bikram Singh, the COAS, Lt Gen DS Hooda, Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, Chinar Corps Commander and other senior officials of Army and Ministry of Defence .
RM was briefed about the trends in infiltration of the terrorists and the Counter Infiltration grid established by Army along the Line of Control. He also interacted with the troops deployed on the Line of Control.
On return to Srinagar, Shri Arun Jaitley attended the Special Security Review meeting held at Sher-e- Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), attended by the Chief Minister, the COAS, the Northern Army Commander, the Chinar Corps Commander and other official of state and civil administration. Security related issues were discussed during the meeting.
