Lt Gen Vinod Bhatia, PVSM, AVSM, SM (Retd) Is Director, Centre For Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS) a New Delhi based think tank of the Ministry of Defence, India. The role of CENJOWS is to generate policy options for decision-makers in the Government of India and Defence Forces to further/ strengthen National Security. CENJOWS engages with National and Foreign institutions, having congruence of interests and shared concerns to enhance cooperation in the security domain. He superannuated after 40 years of distinguished service in the Army as the Director General Military Operations (DGMO), one of the most important functionaries of the Army. As the DGMO, he was directly responsible for talks with his counterpart in Pakistan to ensure sustained ceasefire, a first of its kind and was much appreciated by the National Polity. His advisory skills in the strategic arena have played an inseparable part in designing and implementing numerous policies for the Indian Armed Forces.
