Lt Gen Ajai Singh

An alumnus of Mayo College was commissioned into Poona Horse in June 1956 after having been awarded the Silver Medal and Sword of Honour. He served with the Regiment in both 1965 and 1971 conflicts. He has commanded Poona Horse, 14 (I) Armoured Brigade,31 Armoured Division and 4 Corps. He attended the RCDS in the UK and retired as the DGMF. After retirement, he was with the DRDO overseeing the Arjun Project and later served as Governor of Assam from 2003 to 20
