Exercise Komodo

Multilateral Humanitarian Assistance / Disaster relief (HA/DR) Exercise, “KOMODO”, conducted from 28 Mar-03 Apr 14 at Indonesia, included participants from India, Indonesia, USA, China, Russia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and Laos. Indian Navy was represented by INS Sukanya with integral Chetak. The six days exercise was in three phases viz. Harbour Phase, Sea Phase and Civic Mission Phase. Harbour phase included Table Top Exercise (TTX) on HA/DR, Disaster Relief Command Post Exercise, Sports and Social Interaction. The Sea phase included SAREX (Search and Rescue Exercise), Cross Deck Flying/ Evacuation, lashing, MOBEX (Man Overboard Exercise), Oil Leakage Control, Platform Remnant Exercise and Damage Control Exercise. During the Civic Mission Phase, Land and Ship Medical Exercise (MEDEVAC) and Engineering Civic Action Programme (ENCAP) were undertaken.
